Smith Point County Park on Fire Island (Shirley) New York provides full, partial, and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping in multiple locations situated along a barrier island. Beach access and outdoor activities abound at this popular summer getaway location. Mar 15, 2018 Eastern Long Island Kampground is located across the street from Inlet Pond County Park and its beach, and is a short-drive from a host of attractions, including various wineries, golf courses.
With over 8500 campsites, there's something for everyone in New York's state parks! Sites range from primitive to prime. Tents, trailers and motorhomes can easily be accommodated. Most sites have a picnic table, fire pit or ring and nearby restrooms and many include amenities such as electric, water and sewer hook-up, and platforms.

Seasonal Camping
Seasonal sites now offered at Bowman Lake and Oquaga Creek in the Central Region and Max V. Shaul in the Saratoga-Capital Region. Seasonal campers will need to make just one reservation for several weeks of camping. Imagine the convenience of leaving your trailer or RV on one site for the entire summer! Sites are discounted compared to the cost of a standard site. Reservations must be made directly with the parks.
During peak season some campsites are rented on a weekly basis. All sites at Hither Hills State Park and the beachfront sites at Southwick Beach State Park are subject to peak season rules. In general, Peak season runs from the fourth Friday in June to the last Sunday before Labor Day weekend. Reservations during this time are subject to a 7-day minimum stay for campsites. All other times are considered non-peak season and may require a 2 or 3-night stay.
